Not even a full month since they stepped into the Dota 2 world, Beastcoast are already making changes to their line-up.
Jacky “EternaLEnVy” Mao and Timothy “tmt” Ong are let go after a last place finish at the MDL Disneyland? Paris Major and after the team failed to qualify for the last set of Minor and Major tournaments in the Dota Pro Circuit season.
TEAM TEAM added EE to their lineup ahead of the qualifiers for the MDL Disney? Major and delivered quite the upset in NA region by claiming the tickets to Paris. However, mere days before the tournament the team chose to replace Nico “Gunnar” Lopez and Jason “Newsham” Newsham and the community shifted the entire blame on Envy. Despite the big wave of community backlash, TEAM TEAM found a sponsor and went to the Major under the Beastcoast tag. Unfortunately, Beastcoast’s foray into the Dota 2 world wasn’t as successful as they wished. In an official statement released last night, the organization announces two roster changes in hopes of a better performance heading towards The International 2019 qualifiers.
From beastcoast’s official announcement
“When we signed Team Team at the beginning of May for the MDL Major we had the highest of hopes for our success. Unfortunately, since then our performance hasn’t been at the standard we set out for ourselves, so we mutually agreed that these changes were the best for our future success.”
Envy and tmt will be replaced for now by Ravindu “Ritsu” Kodippili and Kartik “Kitrak” Rathi who join the line-up on trial status. The new roster will make its debut later today, May 30 in WePlay! Tug of War: Dire America where their first match-up is against Nic Cage, an NA and SA mix featuring Newsham on the roster.
